Day of Self-Care

As part of self care, I have decided to meditate on regular basis but (I know there shouldn't be any buts but there are some...oh well)...the timing of school papers, classes and internship often doesn't allow me to make a proper schedule to meditate or work on my personal priorities... {And I still believe that one can do whatever they want to, IF they really WANT to...}

So yesterday, October 8, 2010, Wednesday, I went to Art of Living Center. It is literally located down the street from my place... {Nope, don't even try to locate me; they have three centers in same area ;-)}

There is a specific reason I chose to go to the center yesterday because the beautiful occasion of Navratri started yesterday, and I love this festival from India. I knew the center is having the Navratri festival celebrations so I registered online to go attend. I am so glad I did so. It is a nine day festival and I am hoping I can go every day, but I can only hope and try.

I reached to the center at around 6.45, and let myself be and didn't allow myself to judge me...Swami ji started with explanation of Chanting of Shlokas, and then started the chanting...within few minutes I was in deep meditation stage and had my mind so blank and relaxed that I couldn’t even understand I was at center or in some depth of myself. I came out of meditation mode and felt nothing like before feeling. It was truly a blessed feeling. I was so so so in peaceful mind. Meditation followed by Kirtan, it’s like choir of any temple or church but this one was meditation based. During Kirtan, I let my mind and body flow and soon after I noticed I was rocking and rolling like a dancer and enjoying the Kirtan with many others. I took some pictures but I was completely lost in myself that I forgot to take many moment's pictures. Some which I did take are here:

Going to center was a great decision and I am glad I let myself be me at the center, and enjoyed...Thank you God for giving me the chance to join the awesome team.

Jai Gurudev!
